Welcome to WeMama. These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the WeMama mobile application, website, and related services (collectively, the “Platform”). By accessing or using WeMama, you agree to be bound by these Terms.
If you do not agree, please do not use the Platform.
1. About WeMama
WeMama is a community-based digital platform designed to support mothers and mothers-to-be in Nigeria by enabling safe connection, peer support, expert-led education, and access to emotional wellness resources.
WeMama does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment.
2. Eligibility to Use WeMama
To use WeMama, you must:
- Be at least 18 years old
- Be a mother, expectant mother, or female caregiver
- Have the legal capacity to enter into a binding agreement under Nigerian law
- Use the Platform for personal, non-commercial purposes, unless expressly authorised in writing by WeMama
We reserve the right to suspend, restrict, or terminate access if these requirements are not met.
2A. Waitlist & Pre-Launch Signups
Before WeMama launches fully in your area, you may join our waitlist.
By joining the waitlist, you consent to WeMama collecting and storing information you provide, including but not limited to:
- Name
- Email address
- Phone number
- City and state
- Motherhood stage (optional)
- Referral source
We may use this information to:
- Notify you via email or SMS when WeMama launches
- Share updates related to WeMama
- Create a preliminary inactive user account for you
- Assign an approximate default location to personalise your experience
Inactive waitlist accounts will not be visible in the app until you activate them.
You may request removal from the waitlist or unsubscribe at any time by contacting us.

3. Your Account
When creating an account, you agree to:
- Provide accurate, current, and truthful information
- Keep your login credentials secure
- Accept responsibility for all activities under your account
If you suspect unauthorised access, you must notify us immediately.
WeMama may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or community standards.
4. Community Guidelines & Conduct
WeMama is built on safety, respect, and support. By using the Platform, you agree to:
- Treat other users with respect and empathy
- Avoid harassment, hate speech, discrimination, or intimidation
- Not post false, misleading, or harmful information
- Not promote products, services, or events without permission
- Not impersonate others or misrepresent your identity
WeMama operates a zero-tolerance policy for abusive behaviour.
Violations may result in warnings, content removal, account suspension, or permanent termination.
5. Expert Content & Disclaimer
WeMama may provide access to professionals such as therapists, doctors, lactation consultants, and wellness experts.
You acknowledge that:
- Expert content is educational and informational only
- It does not replace professional medical or mental health care
- You remain responsible for decisions related to your health or wellbeing
Always seek appropriate professional care where necessary.
6. Meetups, Interactions & Liability
WeMama facilitates digital connections but does not organise, supervise, or guarantee:
- In-person meetups
- User-to-user interactions
- Outcomes of expert sessions
By using WeMama, you acknowledge that:
- You participate in interactions at your own risk
- You are responsible for your safety and conduct
- WeMama is not liable for injury, loss, or damages arising from interactions
We encourage meeting in public spaces and exercising discretion.
7. User-Generated Content
By posting content on WeMama, you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide licence to use, display, and distribute that content to operate and improve the Platform.
You retain ownership of your content.
You must not upload content that:
- Violates Nigerian law
- Infringes intellectual property rights
- Contains private information without consent
- Promotes violence, hate, or illegal activity
8. Intellectual Property
All WeMama branding, designs, text, logos, and software are owned by WeMama or its licensors.
You may not copy, reproduce, distribute, or modify any part of the Platform without written permission.
9. Subscriptions & Payments
WeMama offers free and paid subscription features.
9.1 Payment Processing
Payments are processed securely through:
- Apple App Store
- Google Play Store
- Approved third-party payment providers
Prices are displayed in Nigerian Naira (₦) unless otherwise stated.
9.2 Subscription Renewal
Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before renewal.
You may manage or cancel subscriptions via your device’s app store settings.
9.3 Refunds
Refunds are subject to the policies of Apple or Google. WeMama does not guarantee refunds for unused subscription periods.
10. Third-Party Services
WeMama may integrate third-party tools or links. We are not responsible for their content, privacy practices, or availability.
Use third-party services at your own risk.
11. Modifications to the Platform
We may update or modify:
- Features
- Pricing
- These Terms
Continued use of WeMama after changes constitutes acceptance. Material changes will be communicated where reasonably possible.
12. Termination
You may delete your account at any time.
WeMama may suspend or terminate access if you:
- Violate these Terms
- Harm the community
- Engage in unlawful behaviour
13. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted under Nigerian law, WeMama shall not be liable for:
- Personal injury or emotional distress
- Loss of data or revenue
- Service interruptions or technical issues
- User-generated content or conduct
The Platform is provided “as is” without warranties.
14. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless WeMama, its affiliates, directors, and employees from claims arising from:
- Your use of the Platform
- Violation of these Terms
- Infringement of third-party rights
15. Force Majeure
WeMama is not liable for delays or failures caused by events beyond reasonable control, including power outages, internet failures, or government actions.
16. Governing Law & Jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Nigeria.
17. Severability
If any provision is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in effect.
Privacy Policy
Introduction
WeMama (“we”, “our”, “us”) is a women-focused community app designed to support mothers and mothers-to-be through connection, shared experiences, and expert guidance.
We are committed to protecting your privacy and handling your personal data responsibly, in line with the Nigeria Data Protection Act (NDPA).
Information We Collect
We may collect the following:
Personal Information
- Name or display name
- Email address and/or phone number
- City/location
- Motherhood stage and interests
Sensitive Wellbeing Information (with consent)
- Mood selections
- Topics you engage with
- Participation in wellbeing or expert content
Usage Information
- App interactions (screens visited, features used)
- Device information (non-identifying)
How We Use Your Information
We use your data to:
- Create and manage your account
- Match you with mums in similar life stages
- Enable chats, groups, and community features
- Provide expert sessions and wellbeing content
- Improve app performance and safety
- Communicate important updates
We do not sell your personal or health data.
Sharing of Information
We only share data:
- With trusted service providers (e.g. hosting, analytics)
- When required by law
- To protect the safety of our users and platform
All partners are required to protect your data.
Data Security

Violations may result in suspension or permanent removal.
Health Disclaimer
- WeMama does not replace medical advice.
- Expert sessions and wellbeing content are for educational and support purposes only.

Subscriptions
- Some features require a paid subscription
- Payments are handled via Apple App Store or Google Play
- Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled
Termination
- You may delete your account at any time.

Limitation of Liability
WeMama is provided “as is.” We are not liable for:
